Counselor's Corner
OUR MISSION
The mission of the Rosa Fort High School Counseling Department is to support students as lifelong learners. Our school counseling services are designed to focus on students’ academic, career, and personal/social needs as we assist them in reaching their unlimited potential. As counselors, we seek to provide services to all stakeholders; including faculty, staff, and parents in order to make a positive difference in the lives of our students.
My name is Shirley Harris and I am excited to be serving as one of Rosa Fort High School’s Professional School Counselors. I have proudly served the students of Rosa Fort High School and the David Williams, Jr. Technical Center since 2012.
I am proud to say that I am a native of Tunica County where I was born, raised, and graduated from Rosa Fort High School. Later, I received my Bachelor’s Degree at Delta State University in Social Science, a Master’s Degree at Freed-Hardiman University in School Counseling, and then returned to Delta State where I received a Specialist’s Degree in School Counseling.
In my role as a Professional School Counselor, I am tasked with supporting our students’ academic, social, and emotional needs. In addition, I am pleased to assist students in planning for their future. Whether it is preparing a student to attend college, entering the military or entering the workforce after graduation, my goal is to ensure that EVERY student is equipped with the tools they need to be college and career ready.
